Australia 2010
From the beach to the bush & back again !!!!
We are off again!!! Leaving home 23rd March - Will outline our rough plan below - so you know where we were when you last heard from us - just in case Mike gets us stuck in mud again - don't think we'll ever let him forget that!
Our Trip
Tue 23.03.10: Leave London Heathrow @ 10pm
Wed 24.03.10: Arrive Singapore @ 6:30pm (local time) & hang around airport for bloody ages - at least it will be warm & they have a gorgeous outdoor bar on the roof holiday starts here..
Thu 25.03.10: Arrive Adelaide 9am, pick up camper van - not sure if Mike & Billie will let me call her "Priscilla" again.
Then so far all we have worked out that we are going to be staying at Kooljaman, Cape Leveque 10th & 11th April - that's if the road is open.

So here's our really rough itinerary - depends on if the Tanami Track dries out in time - if not it's a bloody long way around.
Leave Adelaide & head north to Coober Pedy
On to Alice Springs - then HOPEFULLY across the Tanami Track - a dirt road that runs for about 1000kms through the desert - only a couple of places to pick up fuel along the way. BUT at the moment it is impassable due to flooding. So if it is still closed by the time we get to Alice then it's an extra 1000kms to drive on the sealed road (the only open & bitumen road to WA)
Then IF we ever get to Halls Creek we are hoping to head into Purnululu National Park - again this depends on the road conditions as we have hired a 4wd not a boat.......
From there its off to Broome, where the above photo was taken & then up to Cape Leveque - more 4wd roads !!!!
Along the north west coast road after Broome & down into Karijini National Park before making our way over to the northern Cape Range National Park on the west coast - bit of diving on Ningaloo reef, looking for manta rays, whale sharks, green & loggerhead turtles - trying to avoid the big bitey sharks !!!!
Then its all down hill along the west coast to Perth
THAT'S THE PLAN - but I'm sure we wont stick to it - that's the good bit about it you can get up & decide to go somewhere totally different every day - new place each night - plenty of hot weather & even more cold beer........
